Thissession introduces the Be An EMPATH Method, a practical, neuroscience-informedsix-step framework for de-escalating big emotions, helping others feelunderstood, and guiding a return to problem-solving. You'll also learn Cope OutLoud, a strategy for modeling regulated responses in real time, and simpleself-care practices to stay grounded while supporting someone else through ahard moment. Walk away with real-world strategies you can use immediately,whether in session, at home, or in the community.
Objectives
Uponcompletion of this session, participants will be able to:
· Understand the purpose of emotionsand the brain science behind why big emotions shut down logical thinking, oftencausing typical responses like reasoning or consequences to escalate ratherthan resolve the situation.
· Apply the six steps of the Be AnEMPATH Method to help both children and clients settle, feel understood, andmove toward problem-solving.
